A Few Good Reasons To Support The GOOOH Mission

The concept of servant leadership must be restored to the Congress, if America is to survive as a nation free of and dependent upon thoughtless bureaucracies created by a Congress inhabited by those who manipulate public feelings in order to distort facts for the selfish purpose of their own reelection.

Even a cursory review of the consequences of Congressional actions based largely on the perceived emotions of the electorate in order to be reelected reveals the need to support the GOOOH mission.

GOOOH will develop and support Congressional candidates who will:

1. Understand that domestic agricultural, mineral and energy resource development, production and transportation are critical to not only economic security but the physical security of America as well.
2. Demand a return to Constitutional values and the foundation principles of the document itself when presenting legislation for consideration by the Congress.
3. Act independently and not be swayed by the power that large “campaign contributions” can yield.
4. Act on fact after honest and exhaustive examination no matter how inconvenient or damaging to their political careers.
5. Honor individuality not collectivist diversity.
6. Defend the morality presented in America’s founding documents and their intent and dismiss overt and damaging political correctness which targets those values for failure.
7. Support the elimination of frivolous and unnecessary regulations and control or even eliminate those agencies known to habitually promote such regulations.
8. Actively promote the concept of nonintrusive government at all levels.
9. Willingly defend America from all enemies domestic and foreign and in the process of engaging those enemies work diligently to guarantee their total defeat.
10. See no threat to society in the faith based concepts presented in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution or the Bill of Rights.

These are the core values of GOOOH. Examine their web site and see for yourself. This group of involved citizens represents and defends the above 10 ideals. It is their passion and reflects true patriotism.

Is Your God Based Vote Important

During the last three election cycles 100 million votes were not cast by an important element of American society. This was the total number of Godly men and women who did not vote in the 2006, 2008 and 2010 elections.

Consider the words of Benjamin Franklin: “He who shall introduce into public affairs the principles of Christianity, shall revolutionize the world.” And so he and the founders did exactly that when they established the United States of America on Godly principles and declared with monumental courage and defiance that Americans can indeed govern themselves exclusive of the heavy hand of an intrusive and controlling government.

We find ourselves today succumbed to a Congress far too driven by the desire to be reelected rather than to serve. The principle of servant leadership which demands unpopular but courageous decisions was abandoned in a two of the last three elections to the House of Representatives, a body which still has 70 or so members who are members of the Democratic Socialists of America.

So, it is no surprise then that these recent Congresses have stood silent in the face of the most egregious violations of the First Amendment. Consider the following brief list (a complete list would require a book of its own):

• In 2002 it became illegal to say, “God Bless you” in public schools in New York.
• A Pastor in Phoenix, Arizona was sentenced to 10 days in jail and 3 years probation for ringing his church bells for more than 2 minutes on Sundays.
• And in Philadelphia a great grandmother and 10 other Christians were jailed for exercising their First Amendment rights by presenting the message of salvation at a gay pride parade.
• A man in Salem, Massachusetts was arrested for presenting the gospel to a crowd of raucous Halloween celebrants.

The tragedy of these and many other examples is that the absence of Congressional action is equal to the failure of its members to uphold their sworn oath of office, most especially the part where they swear to uphold the Constitution.

The above are only a few of the thousands of examples of our Constitution being assailed by courts which have dismissed the Constitution as the law of the land in favor of perceived cultural changes. These examples reflect a grievous diminishing of the Constitutional values which form the support of its principles. They show that an entire suite of elected officials from judges to Representatives have simply cast aside the First Amendment and the rights claimed therein. It is Congress’s obligation to protect America from such blatant attacks on our inalienable freedoms. The last three Congresses have been largely derelict in their duty to America.
History clearly reveals that the founders knew the supreme place of God in the government of the United States of America. In today’s House far too many readily dismiss historical fact along with Constitutional law and consider both as inconvenient impositions on their seriously compromised concept of American government. It is time to remove these influences.

Do Americans want to support and grow secular socialism in America? Should we just accept the compromise of our most enduring Constitutional values of all stripes as simply an inevitable and acceptable change? Should God be expelled from the Constitution as well as our schools?

If the answer to these questions is “no,” then we must support movements like GOOOH where courage, morality and Constitution form its ideals and men and women sharing those standards are encouraged to seek public office.

Finally, our individual vote is important. It counts. Our carefully considered vote is critical in overturning and reversing amoral laws and government policies developed by those in the House of Representatives and other elements of government who have said “yes” to the above questions.

Those who can vote but do not must look beyond the excuses to the current consequences of not voting. It would be good to recall the words of Dietrich Bonhoeffer: “Silence in the face of evil, is itself evil.” Bonhoeffer was addressing Adolf Hitler.

Everyone votes, especially those who don’t, it is to be silent.
Examine the ideas presented by GOOOH and you will find an effective method to restore America to its noble foundations, a method worth sharing with your friends, acquaintances and elected officials as well.

HOW TO FIX THE ECONOMY AND THE COUNTRY: WHAT THE POLITICAL RULING CLASS HOPES YOU DON’T KNOW.

Submitted for your consideration while standing by for FURIOUS FLAMES from the FRIENDS OF PAPER MONEY!

I wrote this a number of years ago when things were NOT going well with the economy. They have become ugly – VERY UGLY -- once again as man -- or certain men -- cannot resist playing god as we continue to violate the universal, immutable laws of economics.

A prime example of how men play god is this bit of madness:
FDR took the U.S. off the gold standard in April 1933, and by summer he was setting the gold price every morning from his bed. His Treasury Secretary, Henry Morgenthau, reported that at one point the president ordered the gold price up 21 cents. Why 21, Morgenthau asked? Roosevelt replied, because it’s 3 x 7, and three is a lucky number. “If anyone knew how we set the gold price,” wrote Morgenthau in his diary, “they would be frightened.”

There is STILL plenty about which to be frightened today.

History proves that EVERY house of cards eventually comes down. And the higher the card house, the harder the fall when it finally comes. And when it does, the more freedoms we will voluntarily surrender to "restore order." It was the Founders' concern about this historically valid problem that prompted their attempt -- now ignored -- to keep American "money" sound and honest. See the last section of Article 1, Section 10 of the Constitution for details.

And I certainly recognize that NO system of commodity backed paper “money” is foolproof -- and we now seem to be led by some of history’s biggest fools. It begs the question: How’s the current UNBACKED system working for you?

When we hear that gold (or silver) is so much an ounce, we are being given a ratio expressed by the media friends of paper money the precisely reverse of how it SHOULD be expressed.
At the moment, gold is NOT, for example, $1,700 an ounce, rather, the “dollar” has been reduced to a value of 1/1,700th of an ounce of gold. If the “dollar” eventually inflates to 1/6,300th of an ounce of gold, folks will get a more meaningful picture of what the politicians and the Fed have done to the currency. Sadly, by then, it will probably be too late.

Another interesting metric is that before the vote-buying politicians and masters of the universe at the Fed pulled us off a precious metals standard back in the day, the dollar was equal to 1/35th of an ounce of gold. And it has been calculated that the “dollar” of today is equivalent to less than 1 cent when measured against the metals backed dollar of 1913 or so BEFORE the Fed and the beloved INCOME TAX.

Sadly, it will ever be thus and it seems we must relearn those painful lessons every few generations.

In case some of you hadn’t noticed, class is now in session.
Since the guano hit the air handler, I’ve been getting far, far fewer flames from the paper money lovers at sites I frequent. When, over 4 years ago, I began ranting about the incredibly stupid financial devices (derivatives, mortgage backed securities, etc.) being created to hoodwink the greater fools out there who were snapping up these things, I could count on about half the responders to tell me I was too simple-minded to understand these highly complicated financial “products.” I guess all those really bright financial guys are either living on their private islands or too busy or washing car windows at traffic lights to post rebut my posts.

And consider that when gold and silver come up in the news, the talking heads fall into the old, establishment approved method of measuring the precious metals in the rapidly failing paper when they SHOULD remark that it is the metals that are – within the narrow confines of fluctuations caused by their uses as industrial commodities – holding THEIR value and it is the paper that is INFLATING. (The classic example is that around 1900, one could buy a fine man’s suit for one ounce of gold. YOU STILL CAN!!!)

A fiat money system of the sort we are now painfully watching collapse creates a FALSE world of FALSE feelings of well being and elevated lifestyles. During the expansion phase of such a system, those living under it spend or borrow more than they should, have more children than they can afford and, at the national level, come to believe they can afford to allow a score of millions of illegals to come here for free educations, welfare payments, free medical care, etc. They reject the immutable and universal economic realities and embrace what my old friend, the late Tupper Saussy, called “the IDEASPHERE.”

Now that the inevitable economic catastrophe is upon us, how much fun is it to watch the idiots in congress who triggered this thing scramble for cover by blaming everyone else? Not much!

The only folks who feel good now are the Hank Paulsons and Obamaites of the world who are in the process of conducting what may prove to be one of the largest raids on the REAL wealth of this nation – our labor and real property – ever witnessed.

Our only choice is to return to an honest system of money the politicians and bankers cannot easily manipulate. A commodity-based system using the ultimate commodity found to be more than satisfactory by countless civilizations before this one: Precious metals – gold and silver.

And the ONLY way for THAT to come to pass is to clear out the economic ignoramuses now occupying those expensive digs on Capitol Hill and replace them with common sense CITIZENS who understand that the cost for keeping our heads in the sand will have a very high cost: The remainder of our freedoms.

It should be obvious by now that the current party system is NOT working as intended. The best way to get them into those offices is GOOOH. Visit www. GOOOH.COM and join the millions of fellow citizens who’ve had enough of this insanity masquerading as “leadership.”

"Liberty lies in the hearts of men and women; if it dies there, no constitution, no law, no court can save it." -- Judge Learned Hand, 1944

"Lights! Cameras! Action!"

Yes, the lights have finally come on! I’ve seen signs that the population is awakening from its slumber...a little, especially the young! Some cameras are rolling. You have witnessed the wonderful YouTube videos by alert citizens who are really exposing the scams presented to us by our Congressmen. Thank God for the Internet to counter the obviously biased media of our times.

There has even been some action. An example is the recent demonstrations at the various Federal Reserve Buildings. There has been some criticism of that sudden movement that related to the “mixed purposes” for the demonstration, in a seemingly incoherent manner.

I take that in general as a good sign, interpreting the overall message as “We are disgusted with our government’s obvious distain for the people!” Specifically, they mean: The collusion between corporations and Congressmen, the total flouting of the laws in the basic Constitution, the unwillingness of Congress to control the budget (the House’s responsibility!), the unwillingness of Congress to impeach Presidents acting in disregard to the Constitution, and the list goes on ad nauseam.

Yes, this is a good sign that “We the dead have awakened” (paraphrasing Tolstoy). But where do we go from here? I know a lady in East Tennessee who is a true patriot that admonishes her friends (including me) for lack of constructive action when she says: “Enough of the rah, rah, rah. It’s time to strike where it hurts!” She doesn’t mean with a sword.

My wife had a girlfriend in high school days that was always wringing her hands and mumbling “What to do? What to do? What to do?” She eventually committed suicide. Is that our fate? Are we going to sit by and watch our Leviathan government bring us all down in their lust for greed, power, and world domination?

Please, don’t tell me it will be all OK if we just “reform the parties.” Don’t be one of the few who are still rubbing their eyes, still not quite awake. There can be no denying now that we are ALL (Liberal, Libertarian, Conservative, Whatever) in deep trouble, and that what we have been doing IS NOT WORKING! Take action...NEW action!

Join GOOOH (www.goooh.com). Get your friends to join too. Like Ulysses, put wax in your ears when you pass the island of the sirens singing their sweet song “You know that will never work.” Form your own group, put aside your past “loyalties” and join the thousands that have already committed to vote the incumbent career politician out of office. You won’t regret it.

"...if you can keep it" Can we?

It has been said that a woman asked the following question of Benjamin Franklin as he exited the last session of the framing of the Constitution: “Mr. Franklin, what sort of government have you given us?” The following words were attributed to him as his response: “A Republic, Madam, if you can keep it!” Whether or not this is fact or myth, his answer almost rings the Liberty Bell again in a call for action today.

Well? Can we? Within the first 80 years of our new country factions began to develop, which began to “divide” these United States of America. This culminated in a war in America, which has gone by many names: “Civil War”, “War Between The States”, “The War of Northern Aggression”, and “The War of Secession”. The names don’t matter. What does matter is that citizens of our country could not resolve their differences in a peaceful manner, and fought a war over those differences.

Because of that failure to resolve differences peacefully, the structure of our government changed with several amendments after the war that created a new philosophy that the Federal Government is “superior” to the States and the citizens in them, putting dampers on the concepts of Creator/created, and consent of the governed. This “superiority”, combined with the current 2-party system of running our legislative branch, has left the ordinary citizen feeling helpless to do anything about the warning from Franklin. That warning implied that the responsibility for keeping the government as our Founding Fathers intended was totally ours, We The People.

But what to do now that it is so out of control? Actually, we still have the same tool that our Founding Fathers gave us in this Republic form of government. They gave to us a House of Representatives whom we put in office. And, they gave that House some amazing tools as checks and balances on the other two branches of our government. So, why are we in such a mess today? This is because the two “factions” refuse to use those tools, shirking their sworn duty to impeach Presidents who act in unconstitutional actions such as conducting wars without a declaration from Congress and failing miserably in controlling the finances of the government. So why don’t we use the vote we were given and kick them all out of office for not doing their duty?

Aaaah! Now we get to the heart of the matter. It is because WE have allowed ourselves to be divided into factions also! How many times have Liberal minded people wagged their finger at someone who is considered a Conservative in a manner that suggests “I’m right!”? Not happy with that last sentence? That’s no problem. Reverse the Liberal-Conservative words in the sentence. It is the same problem, but different people. Let’s face it. There are no two people in all 50 states that agree 100% on all issues. So do we continue to gang up on each other and try to find ways to “whip the other side”? I would submit that we look at the results of that mode of operation. Hmmm? Not too good, right?

There is a solution. Why don’t we put aside all those differences, sit down with ALL the people in a District, and put someone in office that will “best fit” the desires of ALL the people in a District? What does “best fit” mean? That’s for YOU to determine, but for sure, it should NOT be a Party-1 or a Party-2 candidate, as they are the cause of the mess we are in today.

The solution is GOOOH. Get Out Of Our House. It is a citizens’ process for nominating non-party candidates by answering questions about ISSUES, and comparing them to the answers of the prospective candidates. All it takes is YOU to make it work. www.goooh.com. Check it out. Form a group in your District and rid our Congress of people who refuse to respect our desires, and act as true representatives of the people. The “best fit” he or she is out there. Find that person!

GOOOH in Lexington, KY

A letter was sent to the editor of the Lexington Herald-Leader, Lexington, KY, www.kentucky.com/369 and published last month.

A version of this letter was published:

"Had enough yet? I have! Do you think there is nothing you can do about it? Well, you can! And no, it’s not a third party. And yes, you can have a part in stopping "politics as usual."

Our government has been under the control of the Democrats and/or Republicans continuously since 1867. That’s 144 years!

The recent fight to raise the debt ceiling highlights how ineffective our political leaders have become. Regardless of your opinion on the issue, the fact that we have politicians squabbling like children, blaming the "other" party, unwilling to work together for the good of our country highlights the absolute need to elect new leaders.

We don’t have to settle for this! There is actually a very simple solution and the leadership of GOOOH (short for Get Out Of Our House and pronounced GO) has developed it. Basically the plan calls for selecting a citizen, just like you or someone you know, to compete against the incumbent representative in the primary of his/her party next spring. This will be done in all 435 districts of the House of Representatives, we get a fresh start with one branch of our government.

Go to GOOOH.COM to get all the details before you decide it can't be done! Let’s end the D.C. madness.

GOOOH in Greensboro, NC

On September 4, 2011 the following letter, submitted by Irving Welchons, was published in the Greensboro News and Record in Greensboro, North Carolina:

To the Editor:

Republicans and Democrats have spent more money than the government collects in all but two of the last 40 years. Why do they do it? Money buys votes. They spend your money in order to gain your favor and the favor of other voters in order to be re-elected. When your money is not enough they borrow more. This works well for them. In every election since 1964 over 80% of House incumbents have been reelected.

The question is why you allow it. You may continue to do things as you have in the past and hope for a miracle or you can make a difference by joining the Revolution underway at www.GOOOH.com (pronounced Go). GOOOH is a non partisan process for electing representatives that are not indebted to special interest groups or interested in being career politicians. The future of the country is up to YOU and the time is NOW.

Fox News Poll Forecasts Political Unrest... and Our Solution "Whose Time Has Come."

Fox News just released a poll that suggests that over half of us Americans are so unhappy with the government corruption of our present political system that we are willing to react... although exactly what kind of reaction is not spelled out as far as I can tell. Here is the story:

Fox News Poll: 51% Expect Major Political Uprisings in U.S. in Next Ten Years

And here is the poll's report.

My favorite author is Victor Hugo ( Les Miserables, Hunchback of Notre Dame) and one of the reasons that I love his work is because his novels are not merely a story set in a particular time period, but his novels give a very deep history of the period to accompany the fictional story line. Hugo kept things in context and relevant. He is the man who originally said, "Greater than the tread of mighty armies is an idea whose time has come."

GOOOH is an idea whose time has come.

We have an army of people across this country that are unhappy with the government corruption and excesses prevalent in our system of government. GOOOH is a solution to address these problems in a very direct fashion while protecting and upholding the system our Founding Fathers gave to us

Check out GOOOH, invite your friends and family to check out GOOOH. See if, upon investigating it, you agree that this is indeed an idea whose time has come.

I quote another historical figure, Winston Churchill, who said, "No idea is so outlandish that it should not be considered with a searching but at the same time steady eye." GOOOH can stand up to scrutiny and is far from outlandish - it simply takes a reasonable number of people to engage it. It is time that we Americans band together with the understanding that somebody else is not going to fix this problem of government corruption for us. No official we elect will be able to redeem the system from the corruption that has been infused in it over the past 50+ years.  We must save our government "For the People, By the People" ourselves. Indeed, we are the only ones who can.

GOOOH is merely a vehicle for accomplishing that end. Of all possible major political uprisings one might consider, this one is peaceful, functional, and proactive rather than reactive.

Want some quotes about a bunch of notable people who have reviewed the GOOOH system? See what Dennis Miller, Lou Dobbs, and more importantly, what a lot of US citizens have to say about GOOOH.

So let's GOOOH!

GOOOH Video Contest - $10,000 Prize

GOOOH YouTube Video Contest
Official Rules
(as of 7/3/11)
The non-partisan group GOOOH is looking for a video to promote our web site, GOOOH.com (G, triple O, H, dot com). GO is a non-partisan plan to replace politicians in the U.S. House of Representatives with citizen legislators. We will pay $10,000.00 to the first person or group who successfully creates a YouTube video that meets the conditions outlined in these official rules by October 1st, 2011, and agrees to the following terms and conditions. If no video meets all criteria, no prize will be awarded.
In simplest terms, we will award the prize to the creator of the first video promoting GOOOH that gets one million hits by the deadline. Given the litigious society in which we live, the Official Rules are explained in the thirty or so points below. Believe me, we hate all the rules as much as you.

1) The video must receive 1,000,000 views, as calculated and reported on YouTube, by 10/1/2011.

2) The video must promote the GOOOH mission of firing politicians, ideally in a humorous, non-partisan way. Videos directed at one party or one person specifically are not eligible.

3) The submitter(s) (hereafter referred to as you) must notify GOOOH at goooh@goooh.com of the video before it receives 10,000 views. You are required to email the YouTube link, your name(s) and contact information. You must also post the link in the GOOOH Forum.

4) You must be a registered member of GOOOH before the video receives 10,000 views. Membership does not require any payment or purchase, nor does it require a commitment to purchase any item at any time. Membership does require completion of an online form that includes an email address and other common membership fields.

5) You assume complete responsibility for the video and any liability or damages resulting from the publication or posting of the video.

6) There is no “approval” process – GOOOH will merely monitor videos and award the prize to the first video that meets all criteria in these official rules. You must notify GOOOH via email when your video reaches one million views.

7) GOOOH’s Terms and Conditions, and our Privacy Policy, apply.

8) YouTube has the right to terminate any user account, including that of any entrant, at any time, and may remove any video posted to the Website, including an entry in this contest, at any time. That includes those that do not follow YouTube's DMCA procedure. You acknowledge and agree that neither GOOOH nor YouTube are liable for termination of any account or for the removal or reposting of any video. If this happens, any “views” your video may have received may not be counted.

9) The video must include this file at the start of the video for the first two seconds of the video. This file is a green banner that includes the GOOOH logo, the words Fire Congress, and the URL for our web site (www.GOOOH.com).

10) The video must include this file at the end of the video that displays for the last three seconds of the video. This file is a black background that includes the the GOOOH logo, the phrase “G, triple O, H dot com), and the URL for our web site (www.GOOOH.com).

11) The “title” displayed on the YouTube web site must include the GOOOH name – with all three O’s! For example “Fire Congress (GOOOH)” or “The Stupid Things Politicians Do (GOOOH) would be valid titles.

12) The term “GOOOH” must be included in the video tags, if tags are entered.

13) The video must not portray GOOOH negatively, as determined by GOOOH. It is acceptable to make fun of the GOOOH name (e.g. calling it gooo), and it is certainly acceptable to make
fun of politicians, but this is intended to become a promotional video for GOOOH, and must therefore refer to GOOOH positively.

14) The video must be reasonably rated, as defined by GOOOH. As a guideline, if the theatres would rate it “R”, we will probably not consider it reasonable.

15) Each submitter, regardless of whether or not their video is the contest winner, agrees to grant GOOOH full rights to use the video and messaging as it chooses, indefinitely. The intent is to use the ideas in the submissions for future promotional activity.

16) Any efforts to manipulate the YouTube counter by any person will disqualify that video.

17) You must comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations.

18) You must be lawfully able to enter into contractual relations.

19) You must be legally permitted to collect the prize and must pay all applicable taxes and fees. We will direct the funds to the person, group or account designated by the winner.

20) You must adhere to all YouTube rules and regulations. YouTube is not a sponsor of the Contest and has no responsibility or liability regarding the conduct or administration of this Contest.

21) YouTube has the right to cancel / remove our Contest at any time without cause, and if they do, the contest will be cancelled immediately and no prize will be awarded. We are at their mercy.

22) Neither YouTube nor GOOOH has any responsibility or liability for the deletion or failure to store any Entries, or for inaccurate counting. While YouTube has set no limits at this time that should affect our contest, they have the right, at their sole discretion, to do so at any time without notice. If they make changes that affect the Contest before a winner is announced, there will be no recourse.

23) You will not infringe upon or encourage the infringement of any third party rights or the participation in any unlawful activity, including without limitation gaming or gambling. You must secure the rights to any music and photography, and the prize will NOT be awarded if any copyright has been violated.

24) You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless GOOOH, YouTube, its parent corporation, affiliates, officers, directors, employees, volunteers and agents, from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees) arising from: (i) your use of and access to the YouTube Services under the Terms; (ii) your violation of any term of the Terms; (iii) your violation of any third party right, including without limitation any copyright, property, or privacy right; (iv) any claim from any third party relating to or arising from the Contest; or (v) any claim that the Contest violates any law, rule or regulation. This defense and indemnification obligation does not end.

25) YOU EXPRESSLY UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT YOUR USE OF YOUTUBE SERVICES TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CONTEST IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. YOUTUBE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GOOOH AND YOUTUBE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. NO ADVICE OR INFORMATION, WHETHER ORAL OR WRITTEN, OBTAINED BY YOU FROM GOOOH OR YOUTUBE OR ITS AFFILIATES OR THROUGH OR FROM USE OF GOOOH OR YOUTUBE’S SERVICES SHALL CREATE ANY WARRANTY NOT EXPRESSLY STATED IN THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

26) IN NO EVENT SHALL GOOOH, YOUTUBE, ITS PARENT CORPORATION, AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS OR AGENTS, BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL,
PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHATSOEVER RESULTING FROM ANY (i) ERRORS, MISTAKES, OR INACCURACIES OF CONTENT, (ii) PERSONAL INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE, OF ANY NATURE WHATSOEVER, RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF GOOOH OR YOUTUBE SERVICES, (iii) ANY UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR USE OF GOOOH OR YOUTUBE INFORMATION OF ANY KIND STORED THEREIN, (iv) ANY INTERRUPTION OR CESSATION OF TRANSMISSION TO OR FROM YOUTUBE, (v) ANY BUGS, VIRUSES, TROJAN HORSES, OR THE LIKE, WHICH MAY BE TRANSMITTED TO OR THROUGH THE INTERNET BY ANY THIRD PARTY, AND/OR (vi) ANY ERRORS OR OMISSIONS IN ANY CONTENT OR FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND INCURRED AS A RESULT OF YOUR USE OF ANY CONTENT POSTED, EMAILED, TRANSMITTED, OR OTHERWISE MADE AVAILABLE VIA THE WEBSITE, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, AND WHETHER OR NOT SUCH ENTITY OR PERSON IS ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. THE FOREGOING LIMITATION OF LIABILITY SHALL APPLY TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW IN THE APPLICABLE JURISDICTION.

27) You agree that the GOOOH organization will be the final arbiter of whether or not any video has met the qualifications, and further that GOOOH may reject any entry for any reason at any time. We include this disclaimer in case someone, in the judgment of GOOOH, manipulates the contest.

28) You agree that these Official Rules may change at any time, and agree to the new rules as they are published. Changes are not expected, but lawyers sometimes think of things they forgot.

29) No video or submitter is eligible for the prize if the submitter does not agree to all terms in these Official Rules.

Yeah, What Ben Said...

On Sept 17, 1787, at around 4:00 in the afternoon, as Benjamin Franklin was leaving the building where, after four months of hard work, our Constitution had been completed and signed, a lady approached him and asked him what kind of government the Constitutional convention created. A very old, very tired, and very wise Benjamin Franklin replied; "A Republic, ma'am if you can keep it."
Notice that Mr. Franklin did not respond with “if we can keep it”. He responded to this citizen’s question with the pronoun “you”. A collective YOU I would think, and what an appropriate response to such a question that was.

In my last installment on this blog entitled “ Main Entry: blame” I attempted to explain how blame is a label we must take unto ourselves as a means of redemption and for doing what is right, and how it is also used by career politicians as a weapon or shield.

In attempt to keep blame in its right place and in its true meaning, it is MY opinion that “We the People”, we − ourselves, the citizens, the electorate, all of us − deserve a share of blame for what our government has become. We are like that lady who approached Franklin wondering what had been given to us. Maybe, probably, we − like her − did not listen to him.

I think that a lot of us with different political stripes may agree that our government has not provided an atmosphere for our businesses to be able to thrive in, and thus our citizens do not have the opportunities for employment that we, quite frankly, are accustomed to having. We live in a global economy whether we like it or not. We have to compete. I know that Americans are, in their heart and soul, the best of the best. I truly believe that.

Yet when the topics of global opportunity and employment or illegal immigration are debated, I often hear two respective narratives from us (the people). They are as follows: “I’m against American companies outsourcing our jobs overseas.” And, “there are just some jobs that some Americans won’t do.”

It seems to me that there are about 435 jobs in the U.S House of Representatives that we outsource to the “Ruling Class” every two years. There are literally hundreds of everyday people in our congressional districts that are more than capable of executing the powers of Congress than those who are walking the capitol’s halls currently.

Are there some jobs that Americans just won’t do? Yes, I think that is so. But rather than there being some jobs that seem beneath most Americans’ willingness to earn an honest living, there also seems to be a group of jobs that seem to be too elevated for us common folk to aspire too. These are the jobs that the two major Parties currently dominate, if not monopolize, and fail at with regularity. Why is that? Our EMPLOYEES in Congress have demonstrated that they cannot be trusted with the reigns of government in a Republic. Yet we consistently outsource our responsibilities to greedy partisan hacks, and we don’t want to take on the job of maintaining our own representative government. It is time to look into our mirrors, and accept our blame of apathy and irresponsibility. Going to the polls every two years is the very least we can do.

I hear your rebuttals:
“But, what can I do to change things?”
”I have my own life to worry about.”
“I don’t understand politics and its boring.”
“That’s what we elect them to do”
… etc…

Are you prepared to keep making excuses while this One Nation Under God declines? How will you respond to the diminishing chances for your children’s and grandchildren’s prospects for safety, prosperity, and freedom? That is what is happening right before your eyes.

Allow me to remind you of Mr. Franklin’s answer to the inquiring citizen, "A Republic, ma'am if you can keep it." It’s up to you and me to engage the political process if we are to remain free. Our inaction in our civic duty will be our own downfall.

We can govern ourselves! GOOOH is providing a process to change our government in a very profound way. Through a very deliberate process, you and I can sit face to face with those who may be our future representatives. We can take an active role in choosing the members of the Congress, and thus establishing true representation for ourselves while bypassing parties and special interests.

Edmund Burke once said “Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little.”
Will you do nothing in this moment of our nation’s life? We can keep our republic if we are willing to do a little more than just the very least of our civic duty.

Clean Out Congress: Broadening Appeal

I am terrified for my country now. And yet, I am excited.

I am excited about some of the change in attitude evidenced among the concerned citizens I know and see every day, and indeed what I can see in reaction from people across the country, that Americans by and large, Democrat, Republican or indifferent, have arrived at the point of recognizing that there is no way that effective decision making can be done in Washington. Given the current influences and constraints that D.C.'s corrupted environments contain, our legislative branch was proved inept by the recent unsatisfactory debt deal and the reduction of America's credit rating. When your elected officials in government spend 15 trillion dollars that we don't have, and fail to reign it in to any meaningful degree, consequences are inevitable.

Just within the past week, even CNN has admitted that it is time to quit playing politics and clean out congress.

Talk show host and political commentator Dennis Miller has stated his enthusiasm about the GOOOH movement, joined because he loved the foreward-thinking spirit of Tim Cox and appreciating that GOOOH is not a political party but an effort to remove the corruption that has infested our country's two-party system. Hear the interview of Tim Cox with Dennis Miller here:

With continuing economic set backs in America, maintained in great part by a newly-elected congress, it is becoming increasingly obvious even in the more lofty halls of the news media elite that the problem is not one of putting different names and faces into our existing political system. New blood will not will fix our ills, because new people soon get corrupted (or eviscerated) in the system as it is currently operating. Yes, it is the political system itself that has become corrupt and needs to be repaired. The current system supports too much influence of money through lobbyists, unions, and agencies that are completely foreign to the system that the Founding Fathers intended. The notion of taking a turn at serving the People as a politician has turned into the notion of the continuing advancement of a political career, and the ultimate growth of a political ruling class. And their work is a never ending string of compromises. The compromises they make on a daily basis are destroying the future of this country.

It reminds me of a joke I heard recently. Hunter and Bear meet in the woods. Hunter complains he just wants a fur coat. Bear complains he just wants to have lunch. They sit down and talk about it and compromise. Bear is seen walking out of the forest alone. Bear got his lunch, and Hunter is wrapped inside a fur coat. The compromise did not work out so well for Hunter. And here we wallow in a Bear market with no jobs growth and 15 trillion debt and an embarrassing reduction in our country's credit rating. Thanks, congress, for your bill passed by compromise.

With the downgrade of America's credit rating, it appears that more and more are waking up from their state of denial to see that our crisis is real.

I encourage you to find areas in your life to start getting evangelistic about sharing your concerns for our country with your friends and neighbors. Find ways where you can get involved. I don't agree with Newt very often these days, but I did agree with him in his closing statements at the debates last night. We have to do something NOW. We do not have time to sit back and wait until the next election to make our influence felt. It is time to GOOOH NOW! Please come GOOOH with me!

Main Entry: blame

Part of Speech: noun
Definition: responsibility
Synonyms: accountability, answerability, burden, culpability, fault, guilt, incrimination, liability, onus, rap

Surely you have been paying some attention to our most recent national “crisis”. Our country’s credit card has reached its limit, and our elected officials in both parties have just paved the way to another $2.4 trillion increase on that limit regardless of whether we can afford the bill. Isn’t that the kind of budgeting that has gotten many of us in trouble these last few years?

The career politicians seem to have the narrative down pat. They fill our ears with an array of indistinguishable plans and scenarios of cutting this expense or allowing that tax increase while employing triggers, contingencies and bipartisan “super committees”. They unashamedly throw numbers around that end with 9 to 18 zeros like they’re poker chips at a game night with the boys. Those chips are our tax dollars, our lives, our savings, and our futures… our hard earned money, NOT THEIRS! Yet it seems, for them, that the money and the amounts are not the real important issue, but are a means to an end. No, there is something else that is paramount to their agreements and/or disagreements.

In our media today there is an almost never-ending supply of opinions and commentary to behold and not a lot of fact based news, and lately my attention has been drawn to an increasingly repetitive defense from both Democrats and Republicans, and that is their refusal to take any of the blame for “letting our country default on its debts”. While most of you may focus on the misleading term “default”, the word that gets my attention is “blame”. Now, in my little world the word blame is attached to a deed that is considered to be wrong.

In our broken political system, there is nothing that is by definition “wrong” in the classical sense …just inconvenient. Their fear of blame is not founded on the fact they may be hurting our republic. To them, blame is not attributed to ones own fault per se, instead it is a tool or weapon to be used against a foe. It’s interesting to see how blame can be used to the career politician’s advantage when it is aimed across the aisle, or in The President’s case, behind him towards his predecessor. Blame allows them to avoid accountability. Again, blaming your opponents doesn’t have anything to do with whether or not the charge is true. Of course they are betting on you and me not being smart, or attentive enough to know what the truth is. Avoiding accountability to their constituents is one of the core reasons that the system is broken.

Their end game is protecting their prospects for reelection, and keeping their power.

At some point we must ask ourselves a few questions:

How do I govern myself and my own behavior?

Should I expect my representatives to govern the nation and themselves in a like manner?

Is what we have now true representative government?

If I am one who is concerned about my own household finances, in that I do not overspend, pay my bills, and manage to save for a rainy day, then representation for me would be someone who is committed to governing in that same manner. Yet, what do I get when a party picks, and lobbyist pays for the candidate from my district? I would probably get a congressman that represents them, and doesn’t reflect his constituents (me). He is more concerned about balancing our national budget with accounting tricks in an attempt to compromise with other career politicians, and avoid blame, than he is for the long term health of the country. They are only concerned for my opinion when election season comes near, and with the prospect that I might “blame” them.

It seems simple enough for a representative to avoid blame:

Campaign on a set of stated positions and govern that way when after arriving in Washington D.C. If he want to change his mind and thus his vote, then ask me (the constituent) what I think about it first. GOOOH candidates pledge to contact their district before changing a documented position.

Do you think it would be easier for him to vote on the difficult issues if he didn’t have to worry about blame, because he wouldn’t have to worry about reelection? If there is one plank that exists in the platform on which any GOOOH candidate will have to run on, it is term limits.

Do you think it would be easier for him to break from traditional party ranks and be accountable to his constituents if he didn’t take any campaign funds from the major parties, or special interest groups? GOOOH candidates are forbidden to take money from any party or lobbyists.

Do you think that he would better represent your district if he were chosen as a candidate by the people, like you and me, who actually live and work in the district, and he was chosen out of a process that allowed one on one discussion with us about the issues that he might be voting on? GOOOH candidates are chosen through a systematic process that allows everyday people to choose their candidate and bypasses the party system.

This would be the kind of representation that we could expect by electing GOOOH candidates to the House of Representatives. Please check GOOOH out, and join for free @ www.goooh.com and find a GOOOH chapter for your congressional district or one near you.

A GOOOH Fireside Chat

Americans need to fire them all, especially after this last fiasco with the debt. Tea parties need to wake up and realize that the Republicans are no better and will not stand up and do what is right for the American people. Tell all you know to join the movement to FIRE CONGRESS as it currently exists, and begin anew with TRUE CITIZEN REPRESENTATIVES.

The Press Who Cried, “Duck!” Instead of, “Wolf!”

Watching the news lately, I am frustrated with the dramatic crescendo building about the debt ceiling limit agreement “in progress.”  Those of us who have an inkling about how important this issue is certainly hopes a good debt-reducing plan will be approved. It is due by August 2nd. Tick-tock, tick-tock.

Meanwhile, poll results are brandished about which show that the President’s approval rating (45%) is not nearly as low as one would think it would be, Fox News opines, considering how bad the economy is. For instance, President Bush's huge $700 billion federal budget expansion in 2008 blackened his name across the mainstream press. But Bush’s spending habits did not even touch President Obama's first year of spending, which added another $1 trillion, reports Conn Carroll of The Foundry. All those jobs Obama promised are nowehere. Companies who are making money are holding tight to every penny and not reinvesting for fear of what the future holds. So the Fox News pundits quip that Obama’s approval rating “defies gravity”. Ask Chriss Angel or any other illusionist, and they will tell you that gravity-defying stunts simply have strings attached. And Fox knows it. They are cut from the same fabric woven with all those little strings.

Another poll by Fox News shows that “over half of voters think those who predict a financial catastrophe if the limit isn’t raised are exaggerating (55 percent), and most think those who suggest Social Security checks might not be sent are just trying to scare people (63 percent).” In other words, the American people are jaded by misplaced hype of the press (misdirection, as it is also known), and are consequently unable sense and recognize a true catastrophe, like this debt ceiling deadline, when it is looming right in front of them.  I think that is a pretty fair assessment. The press has done all they could to create this environment of distrust.

This blog, GOOOH-NOW.blogspot.com, is about addressing the corruption of politicians, and presents the GOOOH plan to provide a systemic remedy for political corruption. In my article submission today, my intention is to make the case that corrupt politics has bred corrupt news sources. Corrupt news sources imply that the present political election system is rigged against the people, since the press' ability to dispense reliable information about candidates is unduly influenced by political agendas. When it comes to information about candidate prospects, then, we should beware the bearer of mainstream news. I apply that warning to both sides of the political fence.

The case in point that underscores how seriously I believe the current crisis in our country is the fault of both political sides and by the spin doctors of the press can be seen in the current debt ceiling crisis example. About two decades’ worth of administrations, both Republicans and Democrats, have done the incremental damage that has brought us to our current point. The press has vacillated between demonizing and excusing this problem all along the way. Thank goodness the press keeps telling us what to think about all this…

Hey, does anyone remember when the press used to be all about just reporting the facts and not telling us what to think? Yeah, me neither.

So now consider why Obama’s approval rating, reportedly, “defies gravity.” Because the majority of the mainstream press, for whatever reason, refuses to be very critical of this administration, the news being pumped to the masses fails to attach this administration with responsibility for much of anything. Same goes for the “Republican” side of the fence. I have a bet to make: We have a bunch of presidential candidates taking the field for the upcoming 2012 election, and I’ll bet the farm that the one who comes out on top will undoubtedly be the one who can garner the most amount of positive influence with the press. Just based on what I saw in the last gubernatorial race here in Texas, I will place my bet on Rick Perry getting the bid (You may say that he has not conceded to run yet. I say he has lived for this day all his life-long political career. He’ll run.). The way things are between the typical politician and the world of reporters, the hand that rocks the press is the hand the rules the world. Rick Perry rocks the press.

We currently have a system where we are given limited choices for whom we can vote. It's good to have select choices, but who is making those choices for us? The candidates chosen for us by the political parties are the ones who have the money behind them -- these candidates have the corruption behind them, too. It goes with the money. The last election proved that rare was the grassroots candidate who could survive. The odds are against us, and the odds are in favor of the political class who would rule us.

GOOOH offers a way to break that corrupted system.

So what would it be like if we actually applied the GOOOH system? What would happen if we were able to truly vet candidates, and got to vote for candidates because we got to know them, personally, face-to-face, rather than merely trusting what the press or the local party has to tell us about them? What if, after a candidate is finally selected by his peers, he or she was made to sign a legal document pledging to follow through with political commitments on issues under penalty of losing their office? And, what if the candidate did not have to worry about how to use political powers and influences to gain re-election because term limits is systematically enforced? Might that lead to a beautiful reduction in corruption?

If that were to happen, well, I am sure there would be HUGE backlash from certain corners of the press. I would suppose that some press members would denigrate political candidates selected in such a “localized” way. A homegrown candidate selection process could only produce an unsophisticated nominee for a political position, they would say. That's what they said about many of those 2010 grassroots candidates. After all, that's a candidate not vetted in the usual way – by the press.

Please understand that I am not anti-press, and I love our constitutional amendment guaranteeing freedom of the press. Thomas Jefferson states in one of his letters, “Our liberty depends on the freedom of the press, and that cannot be limited without being lost.” My point is that our press is no longer free. They are enslaved and obligated by alliances steeped deep in corruption. In an effort to protect their political darling, whether that darling be a president, senator, or congressman, if a bad event compromises a political friend then the press tends to tell us to simply duck when they should be crying wolf. Or the opposite can be true too: instead of informing Americans of a situation that might simply need to be ducked, the press will reliably use it as an opportunity to demonize a foe, usually the opponent of their darling.  We all know this is how politics and press operate. It is insane and it needs to stop.

The American people have an opportunity to circumvent this politics/press corruption game and restore an honest and enforceable selection/election system. It’s called GOOOH, and it’s the best notion for promoting involvement of the people in political issues and helping them to make informed election decisions since the Lincoln-Douglas debates of 1858, which sparked the tradition of candidate debates that we value to the present day.

Please check out GOOOH. Let’s start with applying this system to the House of Congress. Representative candidates vetted district by district. Candidates selected by neighbors coming together to ascertain and choose together who is the person who best represents local interests. (Is that not, in fact, what a representative is supposed to be?)

Consider how we the American people can be a collective influence to re-adjust our political destiny and put the USA back into accord with the intentions of the Founding Fathers. What do we have to lose? Come August 2nd our country may lose its credit rating, with all the horrible economic implications that implies. How bad does it have to get before we are willing to do something grounded in common sense to take our country back?

Thomas Jefferson states in another letter, “And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance?” I propose the peaceful resistance of GOOOH. Let’s refresh the Tree of Liberty together. We might just be able to liberate the press while we're at it.
