Is Your God Based Vote Important

During the last three election cycles 100 million votes were not cast by an important element of American society. This was the total number of Godly men and women who did not vote in the 2006, 2008 and 2010 elections.

Consider the words of Benjamin Franklin: “He who shall introduce into public affairs the principles of Christianity, shall revolutionize the world.” And so he and the founders did exactly that when they established the United States of America on Godly principles and declared with monumental courage and defiance that Americans can indeed govern themselves exclusive of the heavy hand of an intrusive and controlling government.

We find ourselves today succumbed to a Congress far too driven by the desire to be reelected rather than to serve. The principle of servant leadership which demands unpopular but courageous decisions was abandoned in a two of the last three elections to the House of Representatives, a body which still has 70 or so members who are members of the Democratic Socialists of America.

So, it is no surprise then that these recent Congresses have stood silent in the face of the most egregious violations of the First Amendment. Consider the following brief list (a complete list would require a book of its own):

• In 2002 it became illegal to say, “God Bless you” in public schools in New York.
• A Pastor in Phoenix, Arizona was sentenced to 10 days in jail and 3 years probation for ringing his church bells for more than 2 minutes on Sundays.
• And in Philadelphia a great grandmother and 10 other Christians were jailed for exercising their First Amendment rights by presenting the message of salvation at a gay pride parade.
• A man in Salem, Massachusetts was arrested for presenting the gospel to a crowd of raucous Halloween celebrants.

The tragedy of these and many other examples is that the absence of Congressional action is equal to the failure of its members to uphold their sworn oath of office, most especially the part where they swear to uphold the Constitution.

The above are only a few of the thousands of examples of our Constitution being assailed by courts which have dismissed the Constitution as the law of the land in favor of perceived cultural changes. These examples reflect a grievous diminishing of the Constitutional values which form the support of its principles. They show that an entire suite of elected officials from judges to Representatives have simply cast aside the First Amendment and the rights claimed therein. It is Congress’s obligation to protect America from such blatant attacks on our inalienable freedoms. The last three Congresses have been largely derelict in their duty to America.
History clearly reveals that the founders knew the supreme place of God in the government of the United States of America. In today’s House far too many readily dismiss historical fact along with Constitutional law and consider both as inconvenient impositions on their seriously compromised concept of American government. It is time to remove these influences.

Do Americans want to support and grow secular socialism in America? Should we just accept the compromise of our most enduring Constitutional values of all stripes as simply an inevitable and acceptable change? Should God be expelled from the Constitution as well as our schools?

If the answer to these questions is “no,” then we must support movements like GOOOH where courage, morality and Constitution form its ideals and men and women sharing those standards are encouraged to seek public office.

Finally, our individual vote is important. It counts. Our carefully considered vote is critical in overturning and reversing amoral laws and government policies developed by those in the House of Representatives and other elements of government who have said “yes” to the above questions.

Those who can vote but do not must look beyond the excuses to the current consequences of not voting. It would be good to recall the words of Dietrich Bonhoeffer: “Silence in the face of evil, is itself evil.” Bonhoeffer was addressing Adolf Hitler.

Everyone votes, especially those who don’t, it is to be silent.
Examine the ideas presented by GOOOH and you will find an effective method to restore America to its noble foundations, a method worth sharing with your friends, acquaintances and elected officials as well.

  1. Sir Edmund Burke said it best when he declared that "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."

Not voting your beliefs/faith is the quintessential act of DOING NOTHING and explains why we're in this mess.
