What Will We Spend To Regain Our Freedom?

In 2008 a deep growl of discontent and a seriously heightened sense of uncertainty fell on America as it awakened to realize the impact of the election to national office those who embrace an oppressive socialist ideal of government. The consequence of that election is a nation governed by men and women who dismiss the Constitution as outdated and have replaced moral values with invasive regulation. They do this with an arrogant impunity never before witnessed in our history. It was quickly revealed that many in the newly elected government actively embraced Marxist/Leninist ideals. Their subsequent confirmations and appointments to executive and judicial positions reflect this fact.

When Claire Booth Luce said, “Communism is the opiate of the intellectuals….” she was referring to intellect without complementary wisdom or personal humility, a typical character defect of leadership characterized by elitism and arrogance.

But freedom loving America did not sleep following the election and the growling was short lived as it raced past uncertainty into certain action without so much as a backward glance toward unqualified anger. Uncertainty was met with thousands of power filled, enthusiastic and dedicated grassroots movements. The words of President Eisenhower reflect the very foundation of these movements. He said, “There is nothing wrong with America that faith, love of freedom, intelligence and energy of her citizens cannot cure.” Such is the character of the GOOOH movement.

The GOOOH movement, as well as many other grassroots organizations, has enlisted and encouraged citizen volunteers who refuse to be silenced by those whose folly is found in thinking that America is not thinking. The movement is not characterized by plastic, spiritless drones possessing the minds of the indoctrinated and yielding absently the politically correct. It refuses to be part of a faceless and cowardly political machine operating in the dark and professing to somehow know the secret of a greater knowledge of the common good. Even the briefest honest examination of GOOOH will reveal the American spirit of freedom at its best.

GOOOH and other groups are daily reminding those in elected office at all levels that they are to serve us and that we do not serve them, no matter what office they occupy or level of respect that they feel that they are privileged to command from us.

Over the last many months Americans have gathered by the millions and hundreds of thousands at our capital doors with one purpose - to return our nation to its Constitutional roots and we will gather again and again there and at the poles to do so. However long it takes we will continue to pronounce that elected and appointed government does not command, it serves.

We citizens demand the inalienable right to freedom and the pursuit of happiness so hard earned by our Declaration of Independence and guaranteed by our Constitution and Bill of Rights. We are citizens who dare say in a loud and public voice to our elected and appointed government:
How dare you so casually dismiss our thoughts, our wisdom and our God given rights?

How dare you use regulatory trickery to modify the purpose and objectives of the Constitution? How dare you present propaganda and political correctness in place of truth and fact? How dare you convict us of the crime of desiring individuality in how we live in our own homes? How dare you impose amoral values on our children in their schools? How dare you revise and distort historical fact to fit your purpose? How dare you attempt to recruit us into government dependence? And, how dare you deny or judge the purity of our Christianity, or any other religious practice?

We will continue to loudly remind government that blatant misuse of power and self
serving alteration of the Constitution is a treatable cancer in our yet free nation.

So, what will we spend to regain our freedom?

Our labor, our Self - in some degree all of its components - our physical resources, our pride, our willingness to make mistakes and be corrected and our time and our skills are only a few of the things we are willing to spend with willing grace and determination.

In the process of this making this expenditure we will never yield our integrity to government.

And finally we will simply spend: Our vote, as Lincoln said, “…not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution.”

Choose to be active. It is a simple choice and it will impact the upcoming elections. Sign on to GOOOH and tell your friends about it. The more people who know of GOOOH and sign up the more we can expect a positive outcome in the upcoming elections.

The Washington Mafia

Published in the Bristol Herald Courier June 9, 2011. Author
John Hanson is a retired physics teacher and fair tax proponent who moved to Bristol, Va., in 2006 as a survivor from Hurricane Katrina.

There is a Congressional Gang in D.C.   Nearly all 535 legislators are “made” members.  This bi-partisan corruption is at a point where it threatens the survival of our Republic.  They are running a protection racket that is bleeding us dry…one that makes the mafia crime syndicates look like pikers.  Al Capone ruled Chicago in his day.  Now Congress is ruling our entire country.  Ruling as opposed to representing.

There is a parallel between the development of the Congressional Gang in D. C. and organized crime gangs.  Early on the main activity of the Mafia was the “protection” racket.  Store keepers, threatened with the loss of life, limb, and livelihood, paid mob bosses to protect themselves from mob thugs. They were only left with enough to keep the cash flowing.  Of course, the gang needed the cooperation of politicians, judges, and officers of the law so they bought as many as necessary.  Just as with the Congressional Gang in D.C., organized crime was given a giant boost by an Amendment to the Constitution.  In 1919 the 18th Amendment (Prohibition) took effect and kicked off an era of unprecedented prosperity for organized crime and their bought officials.  It took 14 years to get “Prohibition” repealed by the 21st Amendment.  By that time the corruption engendered had poisoned all levels of government.  The criminal gangs expanded and solidified their control in prostitution, gambling, drugs, hijacking, labor unions, and even elections.  The Congressional Gang in D.C. has developed a synergistic relationship with these criminal activities.  After all, in return for confiscating our income they are always at the ready to institute a program to “protect” us from every evil…and any other threat, real or fabricated.  Our Congress has come to operate the greatest “protection” racket in history.

As with organized crime, the Congressional Gang in D.C. began its transformation from servant of the people to master of the people with an amendment (16th) to the Constitution.  To get control of the people Congress had to get control of their income.  Their efforts to do so began long before they succeeded in1913.  Congress had passed an income tax in 1894, but they were shut down by the Supreme Court which ruled that direct taxation of income was unconstitutional (1895).  Ratification of the 16th Amendment in 1913 gave Congress the power to tax income from whatever source derived and without limit (other than what the citizenry would tolerate).  The slogan used to garner support for the 16th was “Soak the Rich”.  The promise was that only a very small percentage of the income of the very wealthy would be collected and distributed to all.  They began that way but have gradually come to confiscating about 40% of all American income.  And still they are spending much more than they collect.  We are nearly at the point of adding $5 BILLION to our debt every day.  No living American has experienced what the country was like when Americans enjoyed life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as our Founding Fathers intended.  Filing income tax returns has been institutionalized as an annual/quarterly pain in the posterior.

It was no coincidence that the Federal Reserve Bill was also passed by the Congressional Gang of 1913.  Like today, that Congress paid only “lip service” to transparency.  The details of the establishment of the Federal Reserve were hammered out by the most powerful bankers and congressional leaders at a private estate on Jekyll Island off the coast of Georgia.  Congress passed its control of our money supply (economy) to a cartel of powerful private bankers (Federal Reserve).  This gang of bankers would lend the Congressional Gang all the money its greedy heart desired.  They would have a blank check to spend free of fiscal responsibility.  To cover the interest on their loans to the Congressional Gang the banker gang would have the collateral of the income of all working Americans!  What a racket! The Congressional Gang would tax the hard earned money of their constituents to buy their votes to secure their own power!   For decade after decade the Congressional Gang has invented new ways to spend the flood of money withheld from our paychecks.  They most often create programs that make voters dependent on government for aid, oversight, and intervention (PROTECTION).  Smells like a criminal enterprise, doesn’t it?  Have the American people benefited from this 1913 departure from our Constitution?  Consider that in 1913 unemployment was about 1 % and our per capita income was the highest on the planet, and we weren’t in unsustainable debt.   Ask yourself, “Are Americans better off now than they were prior to 1913?”

The change we need is a return to our Constitution sans the 16th amendment.  It begs for repeal as did the 18th.  The Congress needs to end the Federal Reserve and return to the gold standard in issuing its own currency.  Congress needs to pass the FairTax Bill to fund their only proper constitutional raison d’etre, to protect our borders and provide for the national defense.  Congress needs term limits. Our 50 States need to reclaim their rights under the 10th Amendment.

The only reason our economy is in shambles is that the thieves in congress and the Federal Reserve are loathe to give up the most lucrative racket ever conceived.  It’s up to us to “throw the bums out” and elect men and women who will support the FairTax, term limits, the gold standard with the end of the Fed, and the 10th Amendment.  See the plan offered at GOOOH.com to replace our House politicians with citizen representatives.

APOLOGIZE FOR AMERICA! HOW DARE YOU?

During his time in office the president has spent a considerable amount time alienating our allies and apologizing for our nation’s history. One cannot help but think how naïve, if not dangerous, these apologies are, both internationally and especially domestically.

He is not alone in condemning America. There are 70 avowed socialists in the House of Representatives who also make it a practice to publically distort our noble history and wish to deny our freedoms. We have seen their actions in the health care bill, a Department of education promoting Marxist thought and amoral behavior as acceptable, approval of socialist leaning cabinet members and a trashed economy. These people support the president in his ill advised propaganda parade. Trashing our exceptionalism, condemning the free market, demeaning our Christian roots and making a mockery of family are their calling cards. It is not just the socialists, that sort of behavior is expected of them. It is by far more insidiously a Congress which will not take positive action, a Congress that sits on the status quo in order to protect its reelection and its exclusive benefits.

As long as the people of our nation exercise the courage, will and desire to exercise freedom and treasure our liberty, attempts to bring us to socialism will continue to meet with stern resistance because failure will manifest itself in malicious subservience to government.

And that is why I support the GOOOH program.

Not concerned yet?

Worldwide socialist models show an abundant history of failures. Examples include the murder of 30 million innocents by Stalin, one of the model socialists of the twentieth century. And let us not forget China the scene of 70 million murders by the communist Chairman Mao. A contemporary example is found in the starving population of North Korea and its prisons full of men, women and children who had the temerity to differ with its socialist dictator, while he adds to his military as his people starve and go without basic necessities.

Probably no nation is free of horrible acts in its history. Those so anxious to present our failings should know that the Russian fur traders of the 19th century murdered and tortured Aleut Indians of Alaska for sport. The Japanese tortured and murdered the Chinese prior to World War II. The nation of Germany was victimized by Hitler’s atrocities well before the war started. There are countless other examples of heinous behavior by nations in times past as well as times present, see today’s Africa.

As hideous as these examples are, the most profound cost to these nations was the death of the will of their citizens.

Certainly some of these aforementioned nations have become better with the defeat of their dictatorships. This is not to justify the acts of our own history it is only to point out that condemning America by apologizing for past actions in an attempt to present the United States on a comparative historical basis is merely a transparent, but deliberate and dangerous, propaganda tactic. The point is that socialism has a profound history of the most inhuman and vicious kinds of human rights failures, failures we do not wish to experience in America.

Too many in Congress today are deliberately lukewarm to the threat of socialism. It shows in their unwillingness to put down their egos and support, with courage, the defense of the Constitution and freedom from the excesses of an out of control government.

They have turned the face of government away from the people not toward them. It is a willing act. Congress seems almost unaware of the oppressive regulation perpetrated by unelected czars and an administration willing to trash the Constitution.

Purposeful blindness is an effective mechanism by which secular progressive liberals can dismiss the concept of servant leadership. And servant leadership is a concept that has escaped the prominence it deserves. Those in Congress who are silent in the face of such neglect need to be driven out of office.

When a nation’s population is driven or deceived into accepting as normal the ultimate cowardice represented by the creeping onset of socialism and its final victory, history has proven that economic and human suffering is the inevitable result.

Courage is the hallmark of freedom, not government.

We need not have OUR president or members of OUR Congress represent generations past and today’s American citizens as cowards before America itself or the international community. It is a disgrace to our history, to the office of President and to Congress.

So, the elected members of OUR government do not need to apologize to “We The Government” of other nations. They need to apologize to “We The People” of the United States of America.

Never in American history has it been more critical to understand that Congress as a body has let us down in the face of the self interests of many of its members. These members who find it necessary to condemn America must be removed from office and removed by our vote as well as by our actions, if we are to maintain our freedom and security.

It is time to act on behalf of freedom. It is time to dismiss members of the House of Representatives who would condemn or apologize for America and Americans. It is time to stand up America.

It is time to support the GOOOH mission and objectives. Tell your friends about GOOOH, sign them up and encourage men and women of character to run for office. Encourage servant leadership. STOP THE STATUS QUO IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES! We have the votes. Let us use the privilege to vote to return the face of government to the people!
